Photonic Micro- and Nanosystems and Integrated Transducers

Our research focus lies on Micro- and Nanosystems Engineering for Integrated Transducers. We explore innovative micro- and nanofabrication techniques on high performance materials, exploit physics at the micro- and nanoscale at the interfaces between traditional domains such as mechanics, photonics and electronics, and we develop scalable system-level integration approaches. Specific thrusts include Diamond Photonics, Silicon Photonic MEMS for reconfigurable Photonics, Optical MEMS, Photonic Switches and Tunable Optical Microsystems, for application in Information and Communication Technologies, Space and Imaging, as well as in emerging areas of Quantum Information Technologies and Artificial Intelligence.
