Open Positions

Master’s Theses

If you are a Master’s Student at EPFL and interested in exciting research projects in the field of Optical MEMS and Nanophotonics, please consult the suggestions on the Master Theses Project Page. This link is protected and only visible within EPFL. Aside the proposed projects, there are possiblities for additonal projects, ranging from numerical simulations of photonic structures, experimental work in the cleanroom facilities to experimental work in the integrated optics laboratory!

If you are interested in a project don’t hesitate to contact us or stop by in BM5142!

PhD Theses

There are currently no open PhD positions.

If you are interested in the field of Photonic Micro- and Nanosystems and would like to apply for an individual fellowship, you can obtain information on the types of fellowship on the EPFL Doctoral School Website.

Postdoc / Scientific Assistant Positions

The Q-LAB at the École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL) currently invites applications for a

Postdoc Position in Silicon Photonic MEMS

The Q-LAB is a recently established junior research group at EPFL, providing a stimulating international research environment with access to state‐of‐the art facilities and infrastructure. We are looking for a talented and motivated candidate to join our team, with a passion for micro- and nanosystems engineering research, to advance a cutting edge research project on Silicon Photonic MEMS. Intended start of the position is in early 2019.

The successful candidate holds a PhD degree in microengineering (or equivalent in a related discipline such as mechanical or electrical engineering, or applied physics, with a focus on micro- and nanosystems). Previous experience in microfabrication is required, and a background in integrated photonics and MEMS is a plus.

Applications should include a motivation letter and a detailed updated cv, and are to be sent to Prof. Niels Quack. For more information on the research activities, visit q-lab.epfl.ch.
